These searchlight signals were replaced in December of 2014 with new Safetran Colorlight Signals that are Approach Lit.

This image was taken after a tornado hit the small town of Robertsville MO, on December 31st 2010 in the middle of the day. Knocking out power to the town and surrounding areas the searchlights went dark after losing utility power. Running on battery the signals only lit up when a train approached. Once utility power was restored they lit as normal.
