Project #0746 - Restoring GRS Type "SA" signals
Page 1 Page 2

This project is taken two General Railway Signal Co type SA searchlight heads and cleaning them up. Both heads came from a bridge in St. Louis. The signals were installed in 1939 and removed in 2005 by the TRRA. I purchased a few truck loads, most of them had damage and this signal is comprised of two signals. I got a double stack dwarf and a double stack searchlight set that was on the top of a five foot mast. The signal that was on the mast had a broken base that could not be repaired. I found a new base for the mast signal and during the removal of the old base I either helped crack the lower signal housing or it was already broke. Now the lower had can not be used, to fix this I took the double stack dwarf signal and removed the base. I installed the mast adapter base on what once used to be the dwarf signal. As for the mast signal, since the lower housing is broke I decided to make a single head dwarf with the number plate like it came.
