Project #0730
Step 1- We had to get the cabinet from Dupo Illinois to Union MO so I can start wroking on it.
Step 2- Was to remove all the old power wires and install new ones. This consists of installing new wires to and from the transformer, PO relay, and the rectifiers.
Step 3- Was to remove the old broken relays. I was to replace the relays with the same type of GRS realys as before. I thought I could not match the same Ohms or slow-delays. What I did was take the onl coils off the broken relays and installed them onto the new relays. I didn't have to get into the guts of the relays. Then all I had to do was change the name plate. The relays hang from a upper bar. The broken relays had to have the bracket taken off and installed on the new relays then all the wires moved over, even the ones i will be soon replacing.
Step 4- Was to install a GRS 220Vac rectifier. This was the only item missing for the cabinet. I couldn't find the rectifier and didn't feel like waiting so I used a 20Vac rectifier. Luckly the transformer had a 20Vac output!
Step 5- Was to remove all the relay wires and install new. The chart was not exact and I can't understand all of it. I am tracing one wire at a time and replacing it.
Step 6- Was to fix all the broken arresters.
Step F- Sit back and Enjoy.
