Project 0724, Dwarf CPL
Gathering Materials-
I had the chance to buy this a while back with few lamps and hoods, since then I have added many more indications including lunar. I bought some top markers last week, decided that it was time to remove ONLY the front round part with the 8 lamps. The rest was well painted.
Plan
The plan was to remove all the lamps and clean everything. Most of the screws broke off and had to be replaced. I plan to sand the front and repaint it the next day. For the top 3 markers I had to ship off to my college where PMT is going to cut and drill the bar that the three markers sit on, they are also mounting the markers and drilling the holes on the side for the wire pipes. It should be done by next friday. The cost is cheap since the bar is going to be made from steel.
I already bought one marker a few months ago so I bought these two to also go on the top of the dwarf.
Heres a pile of parts that I have removed and started to clean.
Here is the inside of the signal after all the lights have been removed.
Heres the front of the CPL with about 75% of the sanding done. Not going to do the base for its going to be replaced in a month.
The lunar lens removed.
A view of where the small color lens goes.
Here is a shot of where the cup latches to the lens ring.
Heres the cup that the light bulb goes into, note the little rod with the doll rod sticking threw the sides. This latches to the lens ring.
Heres all the parts that was going to be painted, some are on the second coat but more are one the first coat.
Heres the dwarf starting to come together, half the lights are installed. The rest is still drying.
The final product till I get the top markers from ranken then I have to paint them and install them. Green over White.
Heres the steel bar Ranken made for the dwarf. Total Cost=$25.00
Ranken also drilled the 1/2" holes on the side to install the pipe fitting.
The three attatched to the top of the dwarf, they have not been apinted but I needed to see if the holes line up befor it was painted.
A close up of the top markers.
Heres the pipe going to the center marker.
