Project 0717, R-2 Dwarf
Gathering Materials-
A friend had asked Pat and I to go get some signals and bring them to him, we went across the state and picked up a old CSX signal mast that had 3 US&S signals. Then we went to pick up a few CPLs from a different friend. Once we got the signals to our friends house I started thinking about how much I wanted a dwarf, after a while I had talked Dan into giving me one of the US&S signals.
Plan-
Once he gave me the lower mast mounted signal I knew I had to remove a bunch of excess parts. The base and stabilizer arm would have to go then the background.
Operation-

Final-
Heres the signal before I removed all the excess metals.
Heres the signal with all the metal removed and some of it sanded down. Pretty rusty!
This is after I had everything removed and started to prime the signal.
After the several coats of primer I started to apply the gloss finish coat. It started to rain so I had to move it inside.
Heres the dwarf now, the hoods still need to be put on. For now the signal does not sit there anymore, now it sits in my sisters room.
