Signals provide a way to safely traffic trains to there destination. For in 1925 Thomas Hall invented the Hall Searchlight that changed the signals for many years. Still to this day US&S Searchlights remain in service and guide many railroads. In the late 1990's the searchlights fell out of favor for the new Safetran signal heads. Many are the exact same concept as traffic signals. Early 2000's LED signal lights start replacing the older Safetran signal lamps. No one knows what the future brings, but as it approaches the older signals fall, as they fall more collectors preserve the past of the railroad signals. |
